



Drum Fertilizer Dryer
The drum fertilizer dryer is a reliable piece of material drying equipment designed for standardized operation; in fertilizer production lines, it is responsible for drying wet granules to meet moisture standards required for storage. The hot air temperature and drum rotation speed are adjustable, allowing operators to flexibly set parameters based on material moisture content and production requirements. The drying process is continuous and automated, requiring minimal manual intervention; daily operations primarily involve monitoring temperatures, checking equipment status, and adjusting feed rates, making it easy for workers to master.
Working Principle
Wet granular material is fed into the rotating drum via the feeding device. Lifting flights (lifters) on the inner wall of the drum lift the material to a certain height and then scatter it, creating a uniform curtain of material. Hot air enters from the inlet end and makes full contact with the material curtain, facilitating heat and moisture exchange. Moisture evaporates from the material under the influence of the hot air and is discharged along with the exhaust gas. Driven by the drum’s inclination and rotation, the dried material moves toward the discharge end, where it is continuously discharged into the cooling machine.
Operation Methods
Before startup, check the drum for accumulated material, inspect the condition of the lifting flights, and ensure the drive system is properly lubricated. Start the drum rotation first; once it is running smoothly under no-load conditions, ignite the hot air furnace. Begin feeding material only after the air temperature reaches the set point.
The feed rate is controlled by the frequency of the feeder to ensure uniformity and stability. During production, periodically monitor inlet/outlet air temperatures and the moisture content of the discharged material, making fine adjustments to the feed rate or air temperature as needed based on moisture fluctuations.
To shut down, first stop the material feed and the hot air supply; stop the drum rotation only after the material inside the drum has been fully discharged.

Single-nutrient fertilizer granules: Drying of granules such as urea and ammonium chloride.
