The multiple silos single weigh static automatic batching system is automated equipment used in fertilizer production to precisely measure multiple raw materials according to a specific formula. The system utilizes a configuration where multiple raw material bins share a single static weighing hopper; materials are fed sequentially into the hopper for static weighing, and once the cumulative weight reaches the preset formula value, the batch is discharged into the mixing equipment. Compared to dynamic batching, static weighing—where materials remain stationary—offers higher measurement accuracy, making it particularly suitable for producing compound fertilizers and blended fertilizers that require strict nutrient content control. Featuring a high degree of automation and flexible formula management, the system effectively replaces manual batching and serves as essential equipment for ensuring consistent finished fertilizer quality.
Working Principle
Upon system startup, the PLC controls the feeding augers of each raw material bin to feed materials into the weighing hopper according to the preset formula. For each material, the system begins with rapid feeding, switches to slow, precise feeding as the weight approaches the setpoint, stops once the target value is reached, and records the actual measured weight. The next material is then fed, with the cumulative weight in the hopper increasing until all formula ingredients have been measured. During the static weighing process, the system pauses after each feeding cycle to allow the hopper to stabilize before reading the accurate weight, thereby avoiding dynamic errors. Once all measurements are complete, the discharge gate at the bottom of the hopper opens, and the materials are discharged in a single batch into the mixer or onto a collection conveyor belt. The entire process is automatically controlled by the PLC; operators simply need to configure the formulas and monitor system operation.
Equipment Components
Raw Material Bins: Multiple independent bins store different raw materials; capacities are designed based on formula requirements, and anti-bridging devices can be installed.
Feeding Augers: Each bin is equipped with a variable-frequency drive (VFD) screw feeder at the bottom, featuring two-stage (fast/slow) feeding; auger diameter and rotation speed are selected based on material characteristics.
Shared Weighing Hopper: A high-precision weighing hopper mounted on load cells sequentially receives materials from the bins; the hopper body is constructed from wear-resistant steel plate.
Discharge Valve: A pneumatic or electric discharge gate at the bottom of the hopper discharges material into the mixing equipment; it operates smoothly and ensures a tight seal.
Control System: Composed of a PLC, touchscreen, and weighing instrument; capable of storing multiple formulas and automatically controlling feeding and metering.
Material Collection and Conveying: A collection chute or conveyor belt located beneath the weighing hopper transports the batched materials to the mixer.
Steel Platform and Frame: A steel structure platform that supports the bins, feeders, and weighing hopper.
