Precautions for compost turning machine in organic fertilizer production process

In organic fertilizer production, compost turning machine plays a vital role. To ensure its efficient and stable operation and guarantee the quality of organic fertilizer, the following are some operating precautions:

  1. Site requirements

The installation site of the compost turning machine should be flat and solid, with enough space for equipment operation and material stacking. Avoid installing it in places with obvious slopes or soft foundations to prevent the equipment from shaking or tilting during operation.

  1. Debugging inspection

Perform a comprehensive inspection of the compost turning machine before use. Check whether the connections of each component are firm, whether the screws are loose, and whether the tightness of the drive belt or chain is appropriate. At the same time, check whether the compost turning tool is intact, and the degree of wear of the blade should not affect the normal compost turning operation.

  1. Material characteristics

The moisture content of the material has a great influence on the effect of compost turning. If the moisture content is too high, the material is easy to clump, affecting the aeration and not conducive to microbial fermentation. Generally speaking, the moisture content of the material in organic fertilizer production should be controlled at 40% – 60%. In addition, the particle size of the material should also be appropriate. Too large particles may lead to incomplete compost turning.

  1. Compost turning matters

The compost turning frequency should be adjusted according to the fermentation stage. In the early stage of fermentation, microbial activity is vigorous and more frequent compost turning is required, generally once every 2-3 days to provide sufficient oxygen. As fermentation proceeds, the compost turning frequency can be appropriately reduced. At the same time, the compost turning depth should be moderate. Too shallow cannot fully mix the materials and adjust the temperature, and too deep may cause a large load on the compost turning machine.

  1. Regular cleaning

After each use, the residual materials on the compost turning machine should be cleaned in time, especially the materials in the gap between the blades and the machine body, to prevent the materials from accumulating, thus affecting the performance of the equipment and causing corrosion.

  1. Parts inspection

Regularly check the vulnerable parts of the compost turning machine, such as blades, bearings, etc. If the blades are worn, they should be replaced in time, and the bearings should be lubricated regularly to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.

We must pay full attention to these precautions in the process of organic fertilizer production, so that the compost turning machine can play a better role, thereby improving the production efficiency and quality of organic fertilizer.
