Improvement ideas for BB fertilizer mixers used in bulk blending fertilizer production
The bulk blending fertilizer production places high demands on mixing equipment. With increasing market demands for BB fertilizer quality, improvements in mixers regarding uniformity, efficiency, and particle protection are receiving growing attention.
Currently, common fertilizer mixer machines suffer from several common problems. Large differences in raw material specific gravity (urea is lighter, potash is heavier) easily lead to segregation during mixing. While prolonged mixing time can improve uniformity, repeated particle friction increases pulverization, affecting appearance and content. Furthermore, cleaning is inconvenient during formula changes, and residual materials can easily cause cross-contamination.
To address these issues, mixer improvements can be made in the following ways:
Regarding the mixing structure, adjusting the blade installation angle and adding a reverse mixing function enhances the convection and shearing motion of materials within the drum, allowing for more thorough mixing of light and heavy materials, shortening mixing time, and reducing particle collision frequency.
Regarding intelligent process parameters, sensors are introduced to monitor torque changes and material status in real time. The mixer automatically stops when the mixing uniformity reaches a set threshold, preventing over-mixing and particle damage while reducing energy consumption. Regarding anti-segregation measures, for formulations with significant differences in specific gravity, a flow guiding device can be added inside the drum to alter the material’s trajectory and reduce segregation. The discharge port structure also needs improvement to ensure uniform material flow after mixing, preventing further segregation during the discharge stage.
In terms of cleaning and switching, improvements to the internal structure reduce dead zones. The use of quick-opening inspection doors and removable stirring elements facilitates thorough cleaning between batches and enhances the production line’s adaptability to different formulations.
Overall, improvements to BB fertilizer mixers should focus on enhancing mixing quality, protecting particle integrity, and increasing production flexibility, ultimately contributing to improved product quality.
